i dont quiet understand. i have a mac os x snow leopard. i want to upgrade to lion as soon as it is send free. but i would like to make it the server version. i have understand that you have to upgrade to the regular lion system and then i have to download an app thats called server... from apple source: http://www.9to5mac.com/70314/help-how-to-make-a-lion-client-into-a-lion-servererver/ . but on apples website they have described it as it was a special version like snow leopard server. and to upgrade you have to have snow leopard server installed on your mac to upgrade to lion server.

What does OSX Lion Server has that you need? FWIW, OSX being built on Unix has all the server components in place. Just use the SLI to configure those components/services.
