I had troubles using lubuntu 16.04 so now I'm trying to reinstall MacOSX onto my laptop. I got lots of Leopard install isos, but none of them seemed to work, so now I'm trying to install from an ibook g4 install disc. The problem is I can only find disc 1 for free and I was wondering where I could find an alternative place to download disc 2 apart from macintosh repository. Yes, you can call me a freeloader, I just don't want to spend money.

The install disc that came with your model of iBook bundled in Mac OS X 10.4.2 Tiger. Here is where you can find images for that OS version.

And here is a direct link from said page for a Tiger disk image that will work with your iBook. This one will fit on a DVD, assuming you've got a spare blank DVD hanging around. ;)

Alternatively, here is a selection of toast images from the restore discs that originally shipped with your iBook. The last one with the big gray disc thumbnail will contain everything you need in one disc, however you will need a blank dual-layer DVD to burn it to. Otherwise, the first three selections will all fit on a regular DVD each. :)

Yeah thing is I got mine from a friend so I'll check out the images. I've already tried the dvd 3 set and it didn't work as in it booted but after a while it the apple symbol turned into an invalid symbol. The dvd dl booted but it required, guess what, a 2nd disc, the one on macintosh repository. Mind you, I'm doing all this on usb but I can use dvd.

Glad you got OS X installed on there! Leopard is generally what I'd recommend for most G4 machines, if only for the better software support, as so many software projects for PowerPC focus on Leopard.
