I'm a student ADC member (gotta love that discount!) and just got this email and, subsequently, Tiger!

Dear ADC Mailing Recipient,

By now you have probably received your May monthly mailing which
includes the Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger Upgrade DVD. Please know that we
are also sending the Mac OS X Tiger User Install DVD in your June
monthly mailing, which is scheduled to ship the week of May 23.

In the meantime, for your convenience we have given you access to
download Tiger Build 8A428 from the ADC Member Site. This is the
same build as the Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger User Install DVD that will be
in your June mailing and is the same build as the Mac OS X Tiger
commercial product that is shipping to customers. To download, log
on to the Downloads area of the ADC Member Site at connect.apple.com
using your Apple ID and password.

We appreciate your support of Mac OS X Tiger and we want to make
sure you have everything you need to get your Tiger products
developed and tested as quickly as possible.

Best regards,

Apple Developer Connection

Happy downloading. (It only took me 30 minutes. YMMV)

Yea, just got the email. My university just got it in for free as well, and I picked it up there.

Holy! Safari feels SO much faster at rendering pages, and resizing windows (any program) feels so much smoother.

TIGER!

Out of curiosity, what else does the student membership get you, and do you know if faculty/staff can take advantage of the student pricing like they can for general EDU pricing?

You get a once in a lifetime hardware discount, which is NOT to be laughed at. Moreover, you get monthly updates on CD/DVD, such as 10.4.

if I remember my college years well, as faculty/staff you can probably take advantage of some young girl/boy, who then goes on to get you the hardware discount and CDs/DVDs, so don't give up hope.
