Choosing between the 15-inch Air and the 14-inch Pro was a big decision for me, and I ultimately went with the Air. And I'm quite happy about my choice.

What gave me pause until the last minute was its limited external display support.
But recently I encountered a very annoying issue with MacOS regarding external displays.

I use one (obviously!) external monitor with my Air, and one day I was using my iPad Pro for Sidecar in addition to the external monitor. But as I logged out and logged in again, I discovered that my window layout became messy. It was very annoying because I carefully arranged windows for my workflow. It was a complete mess.

I shared my frustration with one of my colleagues, who uses three external monitors with the 14 Pro, and he told me that it's incurable. And it does seem incurable, and it also appears to be a longstanding issue.

So, using one external monitor is fine in terms of window layout, but using more than two external displays turns out to be very annoying in MacOS.
Until Apple fixes this issue, it seems, at least for me, better to use one good and big single external monitor than to use multiple displays.

So, I'm feeling more than ever that I made the right decision.
