I've got a Macbook Aluminium and an old COMPAQ. I have installed vista as an additional OS on my Macbook but I rarely use it.
My other laptop runs XP Home Edition. I want the old laptop to use the Macs Internet connection.
I set up a Crossover Lan Cable and I also have a normal Lan cable which I connect two laptops together. On vista, everything works perfect and my two pcs ping each other, but in damn OSX
it just doesn't work

Two machines are connected properly because if I switch to Vista it works fine with both normal and crossover cables.
Ive got a PhD in computer science and years of experience in working with these scraps but I can't get through this one... I tried every possible configuration on Ethernet, I turned on and off Internet Sharing and Airport. Nothing seems to work.
