Mac & PC sharing HD via USB

I have an interesting harddrive sharing question. Currently I have 3-4 macs all networked together, they all share multiple HD's and connect great to eachother. Now I have one PC connected to this network as well. No problem.

I have a client who has given me VPN access to external networks on a second PC. Now what I am trying to do is connect this "external" computer into the "network". It is virtually impossible for me to connect this machine to the network by using network settings. I don't have the administrator rights.

My workaround idea is to use a USB switch. However I can't stand the thought of having to click a button each time I want to share a file back and forth from machine to machine.

Other things I have tried:
Box.net - the application stopped working on the PC. The firewall stopped this immediatly.
Time capsule - doesn't work. I need admin right to get the network set up right...

So what I am looking for ideally is an USB switch without the switch. It looks like people claim these exist, do any of you have thoughts on any of these, or have recommendations for others?
