Over the hills and far away...
I remember when I first came to college with my PowerBook G4 back in 2005, I was one of two people in my residence hall to have a mac, and almost the only one to ever have one in almost all of my classes. This semester alone, I have started to notice that in my classes, if I look around I will se at least 5 white apples glowing at me.

I also used to be the only Mac user in my fraternity. I now see at least 4 other brothers using Macs, and 4 out of our 10 pledges have MB's or MBP's

I guess the point of this is that I am seeing first hand how pervasive Macs are becoming on college campuses, and it makes me happy.

I go to UW-Madison and I have noticed there are a ton of Macs used by people on campus. In my dorm I'd have to say 2/5-1/2 of the people have macs. Even in my science and engineering classes there are quite a few white glowing apples when I look back.

About 20-25% of the students at my uni use a Mac. This is from my own estimation. Nobody uses a laptop in lectures here though.

P.S. i like ur music

It's quite interesting how the white MacBooks outnumber BlackBooks at my college probably 200 : 0
The MacBook Pro is a lowly figure, maybe 10?
Discounting any owned by the college, that is.

Here in the UK things are getting the same, when i first started teaching IT
at college there wasnt a Mac in sight now 8months on there started to appear
Same goes for another college i have to visit sometimes white macbooks
popping up all over the place

But aren't Macs still only something like 4% of the market? That 4% must be in college still.

It's actually around 7% now. And there are like tens of million computers out there, so the number is pretty significant. And young people tends to like Macs, that's why you see more of them in school/college/uni.

I go to school right in Cupertino, and there are quite a few Mac users, but not as many as you would expect. There's also too many Dells in the computer lab, though there are like 20 20" iMacs in the Library

i think it's because Macs makes each and every user more productive than other computers.

With all the integrated software and other freeware available for productivity, i regret not switching when i started school. :D
