hi....if i am looking to drain my batter, so i can give it a full charge...what will happen if i leave it unplugged, and lets say go to sleep. eventually the power in the batter will go to 5%, 4%...and so on....

so what happens then? does the mac auto turn off?

i basically want to drain my battery without having to check it every few hours

If you let it sleep for a long time, yes, it will drain. That's a fairly good way of doing it, in my opinion.

but eventually it will have zero power and what will happen there?

i am assuming a shut down?

then should i close all apps

If it has no power, it can't stay on. Before you decide to drain the battery, get done with everything that you are doing, save what you want saved, close everything, and possibly even log out. Then put it to sleep and let the sleep light run the battery down until it dies.
