This is either already out there (and I'm having a terrible time finding it), or a brilliant idea that maybe someone could jump on and develop. At any rate:

I'm looking for presentation control software for my mac. Occasionally I'll be plugged into a projector. I'd like to be able to have some piece of software running in the background that would allow me to control my external display (in this case, projector), doing things like blanking the display (even fading would be great!). Of course, this would need to be a actual black screen, as a technical blanking could cause projectors to search for other inputs.

Additonally, It would be great to set keyboard shortcuts to fade to other sources running on the same mac. In Powerpoint and want to switch over to a DVD that you've got loaded up? No problem!

Another area I'd be interested in would be a physical USB controller, probably with some features like a video switcher, etc.

One obvious answer is to use the projector remote to blank - but alas, more and more I'm finding myself plugging into a system near the soundboard, and to use the projector remote would mean running up on stage. Eeek!

Alright - is this already out there? At least something that will blank a remote display while I switch from powerpoint to DVD?
