Hi all, have spent an hour looking for an identical problem here, some posts close, but not exact, so here is my specific case.

I have a new Mac Pro 09, got a second hard drive for backup and a Windows partition, I follow the bootcamp instructions through adding my XP Pro disk where it boots up and loads a bunch of supporting files preparing to begin the actual installation. Somewhere in this process it quits recognizing my keyboard so that when it reaches the point where it says Type Enter to continue to Set UP or F3 to cancel it will not recognize any keystroke. I have tried it with the keyboard which came with, and a different one.

And to narrow the problem further, I can install the HD in my older Mac Pro 06 model, run bootcamp and use the XP disk to install windows without a problem (I stopped before trying to update the New Hardware found part of Windows or adding the Mac Install disk to update the drivers . . . my thought was I couldn't use the 09 install disk properly on my 06 machine, maybe that was wrong??? or maybe my original Leopard Install disk would work???)

If I try to boot either from the basic XP partion on the 2nd HD (back in my 09 machine) or from the XP CD, again, I get no keyboard response or recognition.

Any suggestions?? thanks ahead of time
