My "classic" 1.1 has developed an intermittent problem with the keyboard and wireless mouse that is plugged into the keyboard.
Both are sometimes unresponsive on startup.
This problem seems to be restricted to the USB ports in the back of the computer. The front ports allow me to plug in a wired mouse to shut the computer down and restart. After a restart both keyboard and mouse usually work normally. (If any ports should mechanically fail, it would be the front ones, since they should have gotten more wear from plugging devices in and out.)
I've tried the "easy" stuff - zapping the PRAM and the SMC reset to no avail. I also tried rearranging the devices plugged into the USB ports on the back of the computer.
I've also tried searching the topic here and elsewhere to no avail.
Thanks!
