I currently have a mac pro 1 1 with an 8800gt in pcie slot #1 that shows a boot screen, and slot #3 has a 750ti. Both of these cards work but heres the problem. If I put the 750ti in slot #1 it will not boot. It sometimes boots in slot #2 so essentially im left putting it in slot #3 where it will only be running at x4 speed. Essentially what I need to know is if there Is a higher end gpu capable of displaying a boot screen on my 2006 mac pro runnign el cap, and that will work with slot #1 at full x16 speed. I’m looking for something that is also 4k capable. I have a Saphire 7970 in my gaming pc that I can possibly use but don’t wana flash it. Id love to be able to Flash the 750ti but my searching is only giving me dead ends. Anyone have any GPU options under $250 cnd?
