I just got the Nvidia GTX 470 and it has a zalman heat sync and fans on it that requires its own power. It uses a normal 3 pin power cable.

My question is are there any 3 open 3 pin connectors open and available for use on my Mac Pro 1,1 or am I going to have to by an adapter?

I have a free ide power cable and I also have the molex to data adapter cable. So if there's anyway I can convert one of those for power to this fan that would work too. If there are adapters available like that, where can I get one?

Let me know and thanks.

MP does not have 3 pin fan connectors on logic board. If you have unoccupied HDD bay, you can use SATA->molex 4 pin + molex 4 pin-> 3 pin adapters to power zalman fan from SATA power connector.

Thanks guys. ordered the adapters. should be here tomorrow or monday.

Just to confirm, is that a male sata connector to molex connector needed?
