Mac Pro 1,1 & HD 7970

Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to run a Radeon HD 7970 in my Mac Pro 1,1.

I have a spare 6-8pin adapter that came with my old GPU, would that work or would it need more power?

Will it break the Mac, or the GPU?

It won't break either, but it probably won't work. Lion might support it, but more likely you'd need Mountain Lion, which doesn't run on the 1,1.
