Hey folks,
Tower died right after purchasing new CPUs and RAM (before I could even install). Troubleshooting here came to the consensus that it was probably the PSU. So I got a 1,1 PSU off eBay and installed it. The thing now powers on, but never chimes or boots or sends any signal to the monitor.
Here's what I can confirm it does:
The fans spin at a low, normal, rate (unlike some that are experiencing problems and the fans are running maxed). The red lights on the RAM boards light up as they used to. I can hear the HDD engage and spool up. The white LED indicator light on the power button comes on as normal.
What I've tried:
Reseating RAM (the original 4GB, but maybe not in the original order?), reseating the RAM boards, reseating each of the 3 7300 GTs in the PCIe slots. I've also tried unplugging and pressing the SMC button by the top PCIe slot. Should I be doing this while it is on, or off, and for how long do I press it, etc.
Any advice here would be great. I'd love to get this thing running again or return the hardware I've bought. before the return period is up.
Cheers!
