I have the machine in the title set up with several hard drives, one runs Snow Leopard, one runs El Capitan. The other drives are just for data. Can I use an external 8 TB USB drive for Time Machine backups? I’d heard that the internal drives were limited to 2 TB but there seemed to be some debate about that. In any event I’d like to be able to back up the entire mess on one large backup drive. Any problems with that plan? Thanks!

No such limitation on cMP

Of course you can backup everything to a single large external HDD.
