Ok then, I have a Mac Pro and 2 samsung 24" displays. The question I have is this; can I set 4 spaces and then open space 1 on one screen and space 2 on the other screen at the same time?
The Mac pro has just one graphic card and one screen is plugged in with hdmi and the other with dvi.

Any help would be great.

Nope.

One space covers all monitors plugged into the system. So spaces behaves the same way on dual monitors as it does on a single monitor system.

So I guess it's better to switch spaces off when using dual monitors?
I was hoping for 3 party app to help with this:(

Dunno if it's better - depends on you.

I stopped using spaces after a while cause my dual monitors is enough to keep things "neat" and organised - expose will always be invaluable :p

And, I didn't say there wasnt a 3rd party app. There might be, but I don't know - although I don't think there is. If Google doesn't help you, then it probably doesn't exist ;)

Yeah I did try google but no luck:(

I'm using the same setup with spaces.

Let's say you use iCal,Pages and iTunes.

In Space 1 you can use iCal on the left Window and it will open always on the left one.

In Space 2 you use Pages, on the right monitor the paper and on the left window the tool bars (just example).

In Space 3 you are using iTunes across both monitors.

You can setup which programm should start in which space in the Spaces control pannel (system preferences).

I don't know why you should want to open "space 1" on one screen and "space 2" on the other. Doesn't seem logical to me.

I really love spaces, because it allows me even with two monitors to have a much more transparent overview of my programms. For example I use in space 1 all my E-Browsers, Finder and Mail. In Space 2 I can use iTunes and other media programms and space 3 I use for my professional programms (work).

That's just a simple example.

I personally use only 3 spaces. For me it's overkill having more with two 24" screens.

Hope this helps.
