What do I need in order to add an SSD to my 2008 Mac pro? I don´t mind putting it in the optical bay or the drive sleds with the bracket. Do I need to buy any cables or specific ssd?

Can someone please walk me through it, thanks!

Option 1:
Get any 3.5" SSD and simply use one of the hard drive sleds.

Option 2:
Get any 2.5" SSD plus a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter specifically for Mac Pro and use one of the hard drive sleds.

Option 3:
Get any 2.5" SSD plus any 2.5" to 5.25" adapter and use the optical bay.

Option 4:
Get any 2.5" SSD plus any 2.5" to 3.5" adapter and any 3.5" to 5.25" adapter, then use the optical bay. (Your 2.5" SSD may come included with a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter, in which case you'd only need to buy the second adapter.)

No cables need to be purchased with any of these options. The hard drive sleds with a proper adapter connect directly to the backplane. The optical drive bay is prewired.
