Well it's a SATA drive, so it will fit and connect.

Whether OS X will recognise it, I don't know. I don't see why it shouldn't. Can anyone comment?

As it's SATA, there's no reason why it wouldn't work, unless it's a firmware issue or DOA.

Ordered that model and...

...it shows up fine in the system profiler and seems to function ok. When trying to rip simultaneous dvds I have had the system eventually fail to recognize the drive and have to re-boot for it to be functional. Probably more of a software issue caused by the dual ripping than the drive itself. Fyi, based on my (incredibly) informal testing, the pioneer is noticeably louder and a slightly slower when ripping than the stock drive.

Have you checked for a firmware update by chance? It might help.

Has anyone found any other drives? I would really like to add one to my 2.66 Quad-Core, but I haven't found a decent fast one yet...
