Mac Pro 2009 Graphics Card

Hi All,

Im looking for a recomendation for which Graphics card to buy for a 2009 Mac Pro. We dont need anything to powerful, just looking for a card that can run and HDMI Monitor and deleiver sound via HDMI. Ideally would like to be able to use the card on El Capitan and book screen.

For a Mac Pro 2009 many graphics cards are possible, especially Nvidia cards. If you want to have a boot screen the card needs to be an EFI card.

From memory, only 5,1 can deliver audio via HDMI. A 4,1 must be flashed to 5,1 in order to do that. But I am not 100% sure about this, and my 4,1 is already flashed, so can't test it.

Put an Asus GTX 650 in mine, plug and play, works fine. Audio through HDMI courtesy of this kext:
