Hi guys,
Please I'm just a new on this page, and I need help, if someone can help please please. I had 2008 mac pro 2.8ghz 2× 8 core, and I use it for music Production, mixing and mastering and most all the time when I 'm working, the cpu goes all the way up and music stops and it say computer is too slow to play the song. So I was working with it and it tune off on me and couldn't tune back on, so I wanted to get another one, but 2012 12 core, and some guy was saying he can give me 2009 6 core and he said the 6 core is more faster than the 12 core or he could upgrade it to 12. So I just wanted to know if the 12 core will be good or 6 core will be good for music Production,. So please can someone help please and thank you

Get the 2012 12 cores unless it's way more expensive than the 2009 6 cores.

The 2009 6 cores cannot be upgraded to 12 cores directly, you need to buy another dual processor tray, which often cost close to a whole 4,1.
