Hey Guys,

I've got a Mac Pro 2013 with the dual AMD FirePro D300 graphics cards, and every now and then the display driver will just die and recover. Quite rare, but thought I'd update the driver to see if it helps.

Before installing the driver, Windows Device Manager correctly listed my Display Adaptors as AMD FirePro D300's.

I download the latest Catalyst driver off the AMD website, installation went fine, it also suggested I install the FirePro command center, so led me to believe it detected it fine. But after install, Device Manager lists my display adaptors as AMD R9 200 Series cards?

Everything seems to be fine, but I don't like the fact it thinks I have two of those?

Anyone have this issue? Or should I get the drivers from somewhere else?

Thanks

I think that's just the way it works. Take a look here. This user has a similar issue. I would uninstall all AMD drivers and reinstall the ones that Apple provided. Then use the built-in update utility or the one on AMD's website to see if that gets you better results.

AMD hasn't provided updated Dxxx drivers outside of boot camp hence why they appear as different SKUs

Fire Pro installation Issues

Hi am having the Mac Pro late 2013, quad core Xeon with AMD D300 model.

I am having issue with the AMD Graphic Drivers on the windows 8.1. The Bootcamp 5 installation is so messed up the drivers has to installed manually. After installing the graphic drivers, the screen shrunk its size, the display quality is very low, the games are performing very poor. FirePro control panel doesn't show up and I tried downloading different versions of AMD Catalyst software, nothing seems to work.

Can some one help me with this issue?

I got as far in 8.1 on the MacPro as installing the 14.9 drivers (even though I get a "package install failure" type error every time) but it would never install the firepro control centre. I had it working once with an earlier driver and for some people here it works fine (although I'm not sure if they were in 8.1) but anyway even without the firepro control centre everything seems to have fixed itself.. if not somewhat magically..
