Mac Pro 3,1, flashed 680, 10.14 or stay on 10.13?

I have been following the unsupported Mojave thread as well as the Nvidia web drivers thread.

I am running 10.13.6 and things are fine, but would like to be on Mojave if it would be a smooth transition.

I understand that the 680 should work with native Apple drivers in 10.14, but it seems like the net driver will never work. Should I expect significant performance decrease and stay with high Sierra and the web driver? Should I stay in HFS+ if I convert?

For what it's worth...
I have a MacPro 3,1 with a GT 640 Running Mojave using APFS, I've also had it running under HFS+.
I feel no difference in performance between the 2 systems so I use APFS to remain more compatible. (updates etc.)
I also came from 10.13 and have never felt the need to go back.
