MP 1,1-5,1 Mac Pro 3,1 No Sound

Hi,

I have a Mac Pro 3,1 running OC/Monterey which I switched on today for the first time in 3 or 4 weeks. It booted up ok, but I don't get any sound out of the internal speaker - even the StartUp chime. I checked in Sys Prefs/Sound and all set ok with volume on full. One thing I noticed is that the Menu Bar Icon doesn't display (it just shows a blank space where the Icon should be) when I Enable/Disable it, e.g. it disappears when switched off and shifts the other Icons when switched on (but it doesn't display the Speaker Icon).

Any ideas?

Resetting the NVRAM fixed it, I think I need to change to NVRAM battery too

There is no nvram battery, but the rtc battery can cause weird effects.
