Hi, thinking about upgrading my Mac Pro 3,1 some more. Want to get an SSD Drive and was interested in the 500gb Crucial MX100 but from what I've read Yosemite and 3rd party drives aren't really working together with TRIM unless you disable kext which I would rather not. I am aware that the OWC drives work on their own but the price point for the 480gb is higher than I'd like to spend. I was reading that the Crucial drives have their own garbage collection but not sure this is the same thing. In any case, wondering what options are available or what people are doing in regard to 3rd party SSDs and Yosemite.

any thoughts on this? should i just stick to mavericks for awhile longer and cross fingers that there will be more solutions available for third party ssds and yosemite in the future?
