I have recently purchased the new Mac Pro 3.2Ghz 8 Core Mac Pro (2008 Version). I decided to upgrade all the parts myself. I have upgraded the hard drive from 320GB to 2x 2TB. The memory from 2GB Fully Buffered to 8GB Fully Buffered. Now I am having issue with the graphics cards.
I want to buy the NVidia 8800 GT or the 8800GTX (not sure if the GTX will work) but I don't know where to find it. I have found the upgrade kit provided by Apple but the price is $349 and it is back-ordered (I want to pay around $200-$260).
The PC version of the 8800 GT is only $220.
Do I have to purchase mine directly from Apple or there is a way around it? What types of connections should I be looking for?
If anyone's got a link, I would appreciate it if you could help me out.
I really want the 8800GTX, will that work with my Mac Pro?
