Hi all, interesting one here:

Today I finally got macOS installed on my Mac after fighting with issues for months. However, after I seated the gpu and reinstalled the metal bracket (with the spring screws) the GPU_OK light started flashing, and I get no chime. Out of the blue, random. It worked fine without the bracket, but even after taking the bracket back out it doesn't work. Can someone explain?

Is the GPU fully inserted in its slot? Did you remember to move the fan assembly back into the Lock position?

I'm thinking you forgot the fan latch, and the card wasn't fully seated. When you tightened the bracket down, the other end of the card rose up in the slot. Breaking connection on some slot pins.

Oh, and the power connection on the GPU. That's needed too.

I don't think I did, However I tried the slot above and it's still doing the same. (Even when locked in). I have another gpu I can test with, but I really hope it isn't a broken gpu pin situation, I was hoping to sell it and it's my only GPU with mac EFI screen.

Try an SMC reset. It shouldn't be needed after pulling and replacing the same graphics card, but hardware changes can sometimes confuse or crash the SMC. Resulting in weird symptoms that don't make sense.

Alright, thanks. I will try it as soon as I get home from work, and update everyone who views the thread.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

I literally just put the gpu back in, and it worked fine, and booted into macOS. However, after I shut it down and lifted it up to sit it on the "feet", I get greeted by an apple logo that is stuck. I am so confused, I believe the drive is the problem at this point.
