Since a month the sleep function is no longer working on my Mac Pro.
It is a 4.1> 5.1 6 core Westmere 3.33 Ghz with Nvidia Geforce 980 and USB3 card AppleUSBEHCIPCI and an OWC SATA III card. The MacPro runs the latest version of Sierra 10.12.6 and uses the last web driver for the graphics card.
When I choose the "Sleep" command, the screen turns black but the Mac does not go to sleep.
I have tried the following:
1) SMC reset
2) NVRAM reset
3) disconnect all USB devices
4) log all users out and then choose the sleep command
(I do not use applications such as bittorrent)
If I start from another SSD with High Sierra, the problem does not occur.
UPDATE:
I upgraded the SSD with Sierra to High Sierra but unlike the other partition the Mac won't go to sleep.
I switched to another videocard, a GeForce GT 120 and disabled the webdriver but the problem remained.
Can someone give me advice?
TIA
