So, i've posted here a few times about mac pro's and I apologize for bugging ya'll. But I do have another question. I had money saved up to purchase a single proc 2010 refurb from the mac store... twice it got sold out before I could. So my next resort is ebay.

I'm looking at a 2008 Mac Pro with 2.8GHZ, single processor, 10gb of ram, 1tb storage and a 2600xt video card. They're asking 1300$ for this, in good condition. I've noticed this model only got around 4K on geekbench. Is this worth 1300$? I plan on upgrading to a 5770 ATI.

Well according to mac2sell.net, the computer runs around 1450$. So I don't personally think its a horrible deal. I do think that a better deal can be had, for example I stayed patient and last year found the mac pro in my sig with all but the HDD for 1750$. But if you feel the computer is what you would need and want then go for it!

Thats not a good deal. Ive seen the Octo 2008 models go for $400 more, which are easily much better value. (Twice as fast for a little more dough, is easily worth it, for anybody).

Just sold this driveless setup for $1800 via Clist: Mac Pro 3,1 2x2.8GHzQuad, 10GB, 8800 GT 512MB, AP

No need to resort to buying used. If you have the money for a refurb 2010 MP, you can get a brand new 2010 MP from an Apple reseller for almost exactly the same price. Pick one of the following from out of state and there will be no sales tax. Also free shipping:
