I'm looking to replace the aluminum access door on my Mac Pro tower. I just opened her up to install a new hard drive and didn't realize the surface I placed the access door on would cause so may scratches.
Based on this website I believe the part number is: 922-7702

http://www.mac-pro.com/Mac-Pro-Online-Store/Intel-MacPro-Replacement-Parts

The problem is that this online dealer does not sell the door itself. I'm curious if anyone else out there has ever tried to replace the door.

Thanks,

Just to add a note of caution to watch out for- the part number listed is for the aluminum access door for the 1st generation Mac Pros though that site does not call that out. It appears that most (or all) of the stuff listed is for 1st generation MPs. If you have one that was introduced in early 2008 the part number for that side panel is different- 922-8533

Can't help you with a source but if there are any Apple authorized service providers in your area they should be able to order one for you- though I suspect the price tag might be quite a shock.
