mac pro backups...time machine slow

I am finding time machine too slow and i am looking at super duper or carbon copy cloner has anyone used either of these programs ,are they better than time machine

If you want a fast local "backup", you could look into drive mirroring.

Is this a program or just a routine you can do,right now i am trying carbon copy clone ,super duper would not work ,kept alarming about drive ownership
