I have a 2006 Mac Pro that has worked perfectly for the last seven years, but today when I pressed the power button I heard a faint pop and now it doesn't power on. Everything else that's on the same plug socket works, I've tried different kettle leads but still nothing. There are no lights inside the mac, holding down the power button doesn't work. Nothing!

I really hope this isn't the end of my mac pro, any ideas on what it could be? I'm guessing psu but a replacement one of those is around £200.

Cheers

I've seen 1,1 machines for sale here, complete, for $200-250 CDN

Might be better off buying a complete machine for parts. Best luck.

might be worth taking out the PSU as it could just be its internal fuse.

Sorry for the delay, I didn't have a torx screwdriver. I've removed the psu, is there a manual/guide as to how to remove the fuse. Sorry I'm not great at this.
