I have spent 3 Great years with my ol faithful DP G5 1.8 etc. I have about $2300 to spend and think it is about time to jump to the intel side of things on my desktop. I have the macbook intel and it is great.
Anyway anyone with any reasons to get the 2.66 over the 2.o please let me know. I know it will be a little speed increase but all the other specs are the same. I know I will see a bit of an increase from my old dp 1.8 powermac. But do not know how much etc. I do a little audio/video etc.

Thanks In Advance for all your input on me making this decision.

i recommend doing a search b/c i seem to remember a similar thread from a few months back. from what i remember, they suggested staying at the 2.0 and adding ram and a better graphics card b/c the price difference didn't justify the diff in processing power. then again, maybe i'm thinking of the 2.66 to 3 :)

I think you're thinking the 2.66 to the 3. From what I've read, its better to go with the 2.66. Its not worth saving three hundred dollars to go down to the 2.0. The 2.66 is the best bang for your buck.

660mhz is hardly a "little" speed increase. There are some people still using G3s and G4s with lower clock speeds and only one CPU!

Instead of thinking of it as 2.0ghz vs 2.66ghz, think of it as 2000mhz vs 2660mhz.

Running Intel apps, it should be more substantial of an increase than a "bit" as well. If you can afford 2.66ghz I would definitely get that.
