My current set up:

Mac Pro 2009
4 x 1TB Drives in Hardware Apple Raid 0 (media / data storage)
Superdrive in optical Bay 1
1 TB Drive in optical Bay 2 for boot camp

A work colleague who is experienced with Macs says that I should be able to do the following:

Hard Drive Bay 1 = SSD for boot up, OSX and Apps.
Hard Drive Bay 2 = 1 TB Drive for Bootcamp

Get a pcie (sp?) card for Sata to connect 4 x 1 TB in software raid 0

get rid of the raid card all together.

He says the SSD was the best thing he's ever bought and that I should try and integrate it for start up and apps, leave the bigger hard drives for storage. Trouble is, all my drive slots are currently taken, raid card won't work (I'm guessing) with the pcie card so becomes truly useless (as some have already said :))

Any thoughts / suggestions and recommendations for good pcie cards etc?
