Hi

Looking for some opinions on my new mac pro system before taking the plunge and part with the cash.

My wife and I up to now work on our laptops (mainly photography PS and Aperture) but our data has now overflowed from 4 external drives plus 2 laptops. The Mac pro should help with data storage plus introduce more efficient method of backup and improve our work speed.
Set up was thinking about;

2 x 2.8 quad core with Standard spec
+
WIFI

Buy extra

4GB RAM - From OWC
1x Seagate 1TB internal drive - Also from OWC
1x External Drive for Backup with time machine - ?

HD setup
Standard 320 GB drive with Apps and os on
the other 1 tb drive for all data and photography which should then all be
backup up with time machine to external drive (is this poss with time machine, I have heard that time machine once full overwrites....)

I think this should speed wise be more than enough for Photoshop and Aperature use, Web design and light HD video editing plus usual internet, docs etc.

After reading through forums on External drives, I just cant come to any conclusions which be best for our uses, an external drive like Iomga 1TB ULTRAMAX HARD DRIVE or Mercury Elite Pro or 750GB NewerTech miniStack v3

1. The external drive needs to be taken with us, we can be away up to 1 month at a time and therefore be great to take external drive with all data on it, but no too worried about size. Think all above be fine for that.

2. Can these drives be connected at same time to 2 different laptops via combination of fire wire and USB or do I need some form of HUB (is this poss ?)

3. Any other points of view on setup be great.... this all seems so much more complicated outside of my MBP life!
