Every night I am woken up the sound of my hard drive spinning up and whizzing around for a few seconds, and then suddenly turning off. This happens about every 2-3 minutes and is VERY annoying. Has anyone else had this issue or something similar? it seems to only happen when the computer is in sleep mode.

this issue (and many others) only started happening after doing a fresh install of leopard.

I had this issue on Tiger for a while, but it seemed to go away. I just figured it was an app left open that kept accessing the drive, so I made it good practice to close all apps down for the night.

I haven't heard it do that in a while now, so I'm not sure if that was "the fix."
