Mac pro hard drives

Hi, I'm planning on getting the mac pro after MW SF tomorrow. I know going through apple for hard drives is more expensive and I just happen to have a Serial ATA hard drive from a pc. Looking At OWC's hard drives, It seems to be almost exactly the same as the ones they offer for the Mac pro, Barracuda 7200.10. If i were to format it and plug it into the Mac pro would it work, or do Macs use completely different hard drives than pc?

any 3.5" SATA drive will work. Whether 5400, 7200 10k, or 15k. Just needs to be a SATA or a SAS.
