I want to buy my first Mac Pro this July/August.

The System:

Mac Pro 2x 2.26 Ghz Nehalem
6 GB Ram Memory
ATI 4870
640GB Harddisc

Well, I am not sure how I am gonna manage my harddiscs.

I will use this Mac Pro primary for Music Production with Logic.Photoshop/ Final Cut Pro and After Effects.

There are two Setups I thought would be a choice
Macintosh HD (300GB WD Raptor HD) - System (OSX) and Applications installed
SoundBank HD (1TB WD Caviar Green HD) - Soundlibrary installed
Backup HD (300 GB ? ? ? HD) - Backup of Macintosh HD
Windows HD (1 TB WD Caviar Green HD) - Windows XP or Windows 7 -> Games

With this setup, applications and system will run fast but I got only 300 GB Space !

Second Managment Setup:

System HD (300GB WD Raptor HD) - System (OSX) installed
Application HD (1TB WD Caviar Green HD) - Applications installed
Soundbank HD (1 TB WD Caviar Green HD) - Sound Library HD
Windows HD (1 TB WD Caviar Green HD) - Windows XP or Windows 7 -> Games

+ Extern Lacie Backup HD for Application HD

With this setup, I got a lot of Space for applications but they aren't booting as fast as the first setup.

What dou you guys think? Are both setups bad ? Would you recommend a :apple:RAID Card?

What I want is simply a fast Harddisc System with a lot of Space for Applications and Soundbank. Windows will I need mostly only for Gaming. I would like to backup my music/ videos and photos primary !

Would be nice, if someone could help and got a good solution.

Thank You !
