I have an issue with a couple of apple computers at the minute, basically both have superdrive problems.
imac 5,1 intel core 2 duo 17" 2ghz 2gb ram - leopard 10.5.8
mac pro 3,1 intel core 2 duo 15.4" 4gb ram - snow leopard 10.6.4
Both machines have had limited usage when burning discs etc.
Basically I am wanting to try a couple of things if possible to try & get the superdrives working properly again on both machines.
The imac has given up completly & the mac pro won't burn dual layer discs anymore & could be going the same way - after having tried many different brands of dual layer discs to be sure it wasn't just a particular one.
I want to restore the computers to the original FIRMWARE states that they were in when I bought them & everything worked well.
I have seen this article on apples website:
About the Firmware Restoration CD (Intel-based Macs)
Has anyone tried this & does this work?
Any help & advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
