Hello,

I would like to video chat on my mac pro... using google and at times skype...

... i do not use the fancy apple monitor with built in isight...

my question is, what vid cam should i get for use with my mac pro, with drivers in both osx as well as win7? will the original (firewire) isight external camera work?

thanks,

r.

I like my logitech quickcam vision pro, it works great under OSX and works okay under Windows XP (not as bright for some reason). No drivers are provided for the camera under XP or OSX, it just uses the default UVC drivers.

As for the original isight, I've heard of some problems with it when using snow leopard (doesn't work). I don't think you'll have a problem with it under Windows 7, maybe you could try loading isight bootcamp drivers?

Snow Leopard & original iSight

working just fine on my machines. I can test Windows 7 & XP via VM later on if nobody else confirms.
