Hey I have a 2008 mac pro 8core 2.8 ghz 4 gigs of ram. Sometimes when I scroll in safari (including on this website) it lags visibly. Why is it lagging? Also sometimes it comes to a crawl when I have to select a file to upload to the internet. Anyone else have similar problems?

Maybe you need to upgrade your machine to something faster.

J/K, sorry I couldn't resist

I would think it has something to do with either Safari or your internet connection, does it do similar stuff using firefox?

I have the same problem every now and then with both firefox and safari. I notice it mostly when browsing engadget. I'll try turning off the ipv6 when I'm back at my computer thanks.

Try this, go to network>advanced>configure IPV6 = off.

Could you explain what this does? My husband uses his Mac Mini for Forex trading, and I want to be at least relatively sure that turning IPV6 off won't cause problems for him. In addition to the same issues in Safari, they occur in the Forex trader as well. Thanks.
