Mac Pro+MacOSX10.4.10=USBHD not working

Ok, as the title says, my external can be read only in the USB port on my keyboard but nothing if connected directly to MP.

Test done:
1.USBHD>extension>keyboard:Works
2. USBHD>Extension>USB HUb 1.1:Works
3. USBHD>Extension>Mac Pro USB: Doesn't Work
4.USBHD>Keybaord:Works


Hope someone can tell me what can be the problem.

I have never had that kind of problem, so I cannot answer the question. But just out of curiosity... Any USB products (such as Zip disk drives, printers, iPod, etc.) would work via Mac Pro USB port but the external HD? Is that what is happening?
