Hi,

in my 1st gen mac pro I have 4 x 512mb and 2 x 1gb ram modules, how should I ideally configure these to make my mac pro as fast as possible? ie. 4x 512 on top riser and 2 x 1 on bottom, I currently have 2 x 512 and 2 x 1gb on the top, and 2 x 512 on the bottom but I am not sure whether this is the optimal configuration, please can someone help me out?

Thanks

Put the highest density (in your case 2 x 1gb) chips in the 1st two slots of the top riser. The next highest in the 1st two slots of the lowest riser. then go back up to the top again....
