I occasionally won't get any video when waking the computer from sleep. I'm on a Mac Pro (Mid 2010) with a PC BIOS NVIDIA GTX 970. The display just stays dark, but I can still SSH into and do the ”top” command which shows that a lot of things are running. I can't however use Apple Remote Desktop.app nor Screen Sharing.app (just says the computer is still ”Sleeping”) to remote access the computer, so something is amiss. Also cannot use ”sudo reboot” because something seemed to get stuck and I have to force restart with the power button. Quite irritating.
Anyone recognise this behaviour?
I've tried SMC reset and NVRAM reset.
Might try to put in the original AMD graphics card that came with the computer and see if that makes a difference (I guess it should).
I originally made a post here #3675 that has been updated with some of my findings, but I still haven't been able to resolve this, so trying to create a new thread to see if it can be resolved. I guess I'm not alone with this issue?
Edit:
After a lot of testing I'm quite certain the problem is triggered (occasionally, so it's working some times) when waking the computer from another via Apple Remote Desktop. It seems it never happens when sleeping and waking locally.
