My drive doors went from slightly sticking to seriously jamming. I finally found instructions on how to take the assembly apart here:

I cleaned the plastic gear assembly and everything moves more easily now, but the doors still do not close on their own from the fully closed position unless pressure is applied to the little tab sticking up.

It looked like they were meant to stay open in the down position and then get pulled back by the little gear lever. Is this correct or should the always try to close when not obstructed by the tray?

I really want to understand normal behavior before risking losing those little screws again...
