I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts/ideas on the price of the Mac Pros due to be announced at WWDC this year. I plan on purchasing the high end model, and was wondering if everyone here estimates the prices will be similar. Will the prices be about the same even with dual Woodcrests? Or are we all expecing that it may be a little more? I don't think it will hinder my purchase, I'd just like to know the size of the hole in my wallet after I do buy. Any other thoughts/comments welcome.

Thanks.

I hope I can trade in my dual G5 1.8 and G3 B&W for a new MacPro! But I don't think so... Probably around the 3000/3200 USD for the top of the line model with a Quad (if they immediately release a Quad).

If they were smart, the cheapest one would be 1499

but i have no clue howexpensive fb-dimms are so i can't comment on that

isn't it a bit typical of Apple to release new technology right around, if not at, the current price marks? my guess is that your best estimate of the Mac Pro's can be found by looking at the current price of the PowerMac G5's.

I think the new pro desktops will be the same price as the current Power Mac G5s, with the same kind of setup 3 machines; low end, mid, and high end.

Are you kidding me? I bought my macbook for that price and its only 2GHz. The Macpros are definitly gonna start at.....around $2500 or $2300 or $2000. But i bet its the $2300 or $2000

I'm expecting similar prices to the PowerMac lineup we currently have. At least, my savings are aiming at that price-range :p

I think everyone would like the top machine to drop a $300, and see an entry level machine added back at $1499 -- but likely be within pissing distance of the usual 1999, 2499, 2999 points.
