Hi all,
I have been reading up a lot on the forums and I am now confused between the above 2.
I will not be using the Mac Pro for gaming.
I will be using the Mac Pro for HD video editing using CS4 AE/Premiere pro.
I will be also using the Mac Pro for photo editing using CS4.

Currently the stock 2.66 Quad outperforms the Octa core 2.26 stock.
With the release of Snow Leopard and grand central will the Octa be a lot better?

The Expandability on the Octa sounds great with 32GB Ram but will the above apps and OS ever use that much RAM or more precisely will 8GB suffice for my editing needs?
I will be editing video right now at amateur level.
Should I get the Quad 2.93 or the stock Octa as the 2.66 Octa is out of my budget.
I currently use Core 2 extreme quad,9800 GX2,4GB DDR3 OCZ 1666 Ram(something like that cant recall the exact specs),Liquid cooling, Cooler Master Extreme 1Kva power supply and Vista 32 and it sucks. The system cost me $3000 6months back and it is absolute crap for anything other than gaming.(CS4 hangs ocassionally, Premiere Pro hangs also)

So in the end will moving to Leopard and later to Snow give me any benefits over my current rig?
Thanks a lot guys for assisting and I love this forum.
Cheers
