I have a laptop ma pro, the keyboard got damaged and I was using a windows keyboard just fine. My child typed many times on the log in password. So mac stopped recognizing my password.
- was told to change the password thru Apple ID and seem like it takes it but it doesn't. Computer restarts, tried new password and shows invalid, new one and shows invalid.Even on the hint still showing original hint.
- was told to use command R but since I have a windows keyboard I can't.
I tried:
windows logo plus R
Alt plus R
Shift plus R
Please help!

I'll ask the obvious question, but since the only combo you seemingly haven't tried is ctrl-r, try it?
