Well messing around with hardening my Mac I turned on Secure Virtual Memory. (also a few other measures).
My system last night was horrid! Apps randomly crashing and generally the whole system being unstable (AKA: Pain in the arse).
came home thinking can it last until the RAID card arrives (as I will rebuild it then anyways), and decided to have a gander online. Found very few threads that actually suggested a list of potential candidates that fitted my system, changes and experiences.
Brainwave - Secure VM>? mmmmm Lets see - so I turned it off and rebooted, well I never: It only seems to have worked..
I am wondering if anyone else has experiencedthis issue with a Mac Pro (2008)?
I have the 8800GT and 2GB Apple + 8Gb Kingston. 10.5.4
just curious I guess as its no issue for me to run with non secure VM (no one else uses my baby and outside access is restricted with a strong ssh key), so I dont really need it.
