Mac Pro Stuck in Firmware update

My macpro is stuck in a firmware update.

The progress bar never showed up after holding the power button down and seeing the light blink and hearing the long beep.

This Macpro does not have a raid.

I have burned a firmware restoration disk and am using these instructions from Apple to attempt to get my machine working again.

However I cant get my MacPro to even open the drive slot. I have rebooted by holding down the mouse button and also by using option, but no dice.

Any suggestions?

Ok so I learned that if you reboot your Mac Pro with the mouse down at least 30 times, the tray slot will eventually open.

Now to figure out why my line out sound wont work.
